Batelco Child Care Home / Tracy Ashall Donation

The Bahrain Caledonian Society, in association with its Platinum Sponsors, EK Kanoo and BMMI today presented a cheque for BD200 to Tracy Ashall in support of the Batelco Child Care Home which is being built to cater for up to 50 orphans.

Ms Ashall is currently working towards raising a target of BD5000 to assist the orphanage and will be running in the NY Marathon in November as part of this effort.

The main aims of the Bahrain Caledonian Society are to promote and preserve the unique and exciting culture of Scotland and to foster harmonious relationships with all other societies. In doing so, the society also raises money for local charities. The society has identified a number of local charities and good causes which it plans to assist during the course of the year.

“None of this would be possible without the active participation of our members and the generous support of sponsors such as EK Kanoo and BMMI”, said Steve Ritchie, Vice Chieftain of the society.

The cheque was presented to Ms Ashall by Gordon Boyle, Chief Executive of BMMI and Steve Ritchie, Vice-Chieftain of the Bahrain Caledonian Society at the Gulf Hotel. Ms Ashall commented “I am delighted to receive this donation which takes me one step closer to my goal of raising BD5000 for the charity. I still have some way to go but I am confident that I will succeed in both my fundraising and in completing the marathon”
